Session 4 · Get ready
Bring a long document.
Your Research Assistant, and How to Verify It · Saturday, October 10, 2026
Rules, a contract, a letter you never read to the end. On Saturday, AI reads it for you in two minutes, in your language. And we learn to check what it tells you.
No document to hand? Come anyway. We show one live, and a web page you know well is enough for the workshop.
Last week's homework
On Saturday, at minute 2, we count.
Send one real letter or message written with AI. Before you send it, ask it what it added, then read it out loud. On Saturday, we ask who did it, and who caught something when they reread it.
The Session 3 promptsA document of your own
Five minutes before Saturday. It is what you will use in the workshop.
Pick a long document you received and never read to the end. Keep it on your phone or computer, as a PDF or a photo. On Saturday, at the end of the class, you will have it summarised, then check one point yourself.
School rules
Absences, lateness, phones, what you have to sign.
A contract
A lease, a subscription, an employment contract.
An insurance policy
What is covered, what is not, the deadlines.
An official letter
A letter from an office, the bank, the hospital.
A document you are comfortable showing an AI
No social security number, bank account or medical record. And nothing from inside it goes in the Zoom chat: there, you write only the kind of document, and whether it held.
What Saturday teaches
Three moves to read, learn and check
1. Summarize
A hundred pages, in your language, in ten points. And for each point, the page number: it is what lets you check.
2. Learn
A new topic, explained simply, with an example from our life. Then it tests you, three questions, one at a time.
3. Verify
AI does not always look things up: often, it predicts. The true and the false come out in the same voice. Confidence is not proof.
AI reads fast and speaks with confidence. What matters, you check at the source.
To keep
The three questions
Before you believe it, share it or act on it.
Where does it come from?
Show me the exact sentence, or the source.
Can I find it myself?
I open the page, I read the sentence.
What if it is wrong?
Money, health, law, papers: a qualified person confirms.
Two rules
What stays in your hands
Health, money, law, papers
AI helps you understand. It does not replace the doctor, the lawyer or the certified translator. To decide, a qualified person confirms.
The Zoom chat
In the workshop, write only the kind of document, and "it held" or "it did not hold". Nothing from inside your documents: the chat is seen by everyone and it is recorded.

The four prompts of the session
Keep this page open on Saturday. Everything we use live is here, ready to copy. Replace the brackets with your own words.
4.1 · The summary
A hundred pages in two minutes, in your language. The page number is not a detail: it is what lets you check.
Here is [the document: rules, contract, official letter, article], in [its language]. Summarise it in [your language] in ten points at most: [what you want to know: what I must do, by when, what is not allowed]. For each point, give the page number. If you are not sure of something, say so.
4.2 · The source
The move of the session. One line, then you open the page yourself.
Show me the exact sentence, in the document's language, that point [number] comes from, and its page.
4.3 · Learn
For a new topic. It explains, then it tests you: that is where you see what you really understood.
Explain [the topic] to me as to someone discovering it, in [your language], with an example from our life. Then ask me three questions to see if I understood, one at a time, and correct my answers.
4.4 · The three questions
The checklist to keep. Before you believe it, share it or act on it.
- Where does it come from? Show me the exact sentence, or the source.
- Can I find it myself? I open the page, I read the sentence.
- What if it is wrong? Money, health, law, papers: a qualified person confirms.
Where did you get each of these facts? Give me your sources, and tell me what you guessed.
These four prompts are the Session 4 card. They join those from Sessions 1 to 3 in your prompt library, which you receive in full at the certificate ceremony.
For the more technical
Why an AI can be wrong with confidence
It predicts, it does not look up
A language model writes the most likely word after the last one. When it does not know, nothing stops it: it produces a plausible sentence, in the same voice as a true one. That is called a hallucination. Asking for the source makes it show where each claim comes from, and what it guessed.
Two page numbers
Many documents have one number printed on the page and another in the PDF viewer, which also counts the cover and the table of contents. AI does not always say which one it means. If the sentence is not on the page it gave, look a few pages further before you conclude, and tell it so.
The full definitions
Hallucination
When it invents something and says it with exactly the same confidence as a fact.
Knowledge cutoff
The date the reading stopped. It knows nothing after that, unless it looks it up.
Context window
How much it can hold in front of it at once. A desk, not a warehouse.
Training, and then using it
Training happened once, months ago. Your question uses the finished result, in a second.
Missed Session 3?
Catch up in thirteen minutes.
The letter, the tone, and the question "what did you add?". The highlights are enough to arrive at the same level as everyone. The Session 3 page has both full classes, with chapters, and the prompts.
To be in the room on Saturday
Two things, and the first is done only once.
Two sessions, one room
French from 10:00 to 10:45, English from 11:00 to 11:45, Dallas time (16:00 and 17:00 in Kinshasa). Same Zoom link for both, and you can stay for both.
Already registered on Zoom?
Then there is nothing to redo. Your personal link works for all 16 Saturdays: search your inbox for "CBNEXT", and check your spam folder too. If you cannot find it, write to info@dmact.org and we will send it again.
The certificate
It takes 10 sessions out of 16. October 31 is the last day to join and still reach 10. After that date the course stays free and open, but the certificate is out of reach for this cohort.
See you Saturday.
Session 4, Saturday October 10. "AI as Your Research Assistant, and How to Verify It". Bring a long document.
