Session 2 · Homework · September 27 to October 3
Use your profile three times, then correct it
Ten minutes spread over the week. It cannot be done wrong.
Last week you wrote your profile. This week you use it for real, on three different requests from your own life. Each time, you will see what it already knows about you and what it is still missing. At the end of the week, you correct it.
Start every request with your profile
A new chat, any assistant. Paste this, with your profile where the brackets are, then fill in the request and the shape.
Here is who I am: [paste your profile]. Keep this in mind for our whole conversation. What I want: [the request]. In this shape: [length, tone, language, use].
- ·a letter: to a school, a landlord, an office, an association;
- ·a message: for the family group, a condolence, an invitation, a thank you;
- ·a question about your work or your studies, the kind you would ask a well-read colleague.
Note what it had to ask, or got wrong
Did it ask your city, your language, your profession? Did it assume something false about you? Write it down in one line. Those lines are what your profile is missing.
Correct your profile
At the end of the week, ask your assistant to rewrite your profile with what you noted. Keep the new version where you kept the old one.
Here is my profile: [paste your profile]. This week I used it for three requests: [the three requests, one line each]. Here is what you had to ask me, or got wrong about me: [your notes]. Rewrite my profile, one page maximum, adding what was missing. Then tell me in three lines what you changed and why.
The same rule as last week
What belongs in it: your first name, your city, your languages, your work or studies, your family in broad strokes, what you want to accomplish this year, how you like to be answered.
Never put in it:
- ×a social security number
- ×a passport, identity card or driver's license number
- ×bank or card details
- ×passwords
- ×anyone else's medical record, including your patients'
Who sees it? Your profile is not public and other users cannot read it. But the company that makes the assistant does hold what you type. Put in it only what you would be comfortable with them holding.
An AI assistant is a brilliant intern. It is not a safe.
No profile yet?
Start with entry 2.1, the interview. The assistant asks you ten questions, one at a time, and writes the page for you. Ten minutes, then do this homework with it.
Open the prompt cardShare one result in the group
One line is enough: what you asked, and what the profile changed. Your examples become the examples of the next sessions.
